Spam fried rice is a quick and easy dish to make! If you don’t have enough time to cook and/or just wants a quick meal for your hungry stomach, this dish is perfect for you! You just need spam, rice, eggs and some vegetables!
Spam fried rice is a twist from Uncle Roger’s famous Egg Fried Rice. Basically, you just add spam for the “twist” but will make a whole lot of difference in the flavor especially if you’re a spam-lover like me!
Here’s how I make my Spam Fried Rice. Hope you’ll like it!
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
- 3 eggs (beaten)
- 340g Spam, diced (low sodium preferred)
- 2 cloves (minced)
- 1/2 cup frozen peas (thawed)
- 1/2 cup frozen corn kernels (thawed)
- 1/2 cup frozen diced carrots (thawed)
- 2 green onions (sliced)
- 4 cups day-old rice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
Instructions:
- In a pan, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
- Add the beaten eggs and stir until cooked. Set aside and let it cool before dicing it into smaller pieces.
- Heat the remaining oil over medium heat and add the diced spam. Cook until spam is a bit crisp or depending on your preferences. Add the garlic, and cook, stirring often.
- Add the corn, peas and carrots. Stirring constantly for about 30 seconds.
- Add the day-old rice and toss to gently combine with the spam and vegetables.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil and white pepper. Cook, stirring constantly for about 1-2 minutes.
- Add the egg and green onion.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
